• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you have any idea how cost the maintenance for 19000.00 miles. One dealer told me $750.00 thanks in advance

There is no 'Maintenance for 19000' but going out on a limb here, you likely just need an oil change and various inspections. About 300 at a dealer.

Judging by the age of the bike, you are also due for brake fluid flush. Dealer will get about 150 for that.

At 24k is the biggie for the 1330 engines with trans filter, coolant and a few other items.

A check over and oil change/oil filter combo should run you about $300 - $350. The $750 is probably a quote for valve checks--which are not needed on the 1330 engines. And, IMO--are not needed on the 998's either--the recommendation was every 14,000 miles.

You dealer is either uninformed or trying to snarf your hard earned dollars. In either case, I would recommend shopping around.

The two things you should do at 19,000 are change the air filter and the fuel filter (pg. 120 of your operator's manual). If you are running oil changes at the 3,000 initial and 9,300 subsequent you'll be due for your third change at 21,600 miles. If you change oil more frequently just continue to follow your schedule for that maintenance. Therefore, I agree with other posters who say the dealer is pegging the BS meter. Yes, you have to remove tupperware on both sides of the Spyder because the air filter is on the left side and the fuel filter is on the right, but $750 is highway robbery without a firearm. The air filter and fuel filter changes are not difficult but may be a bit time consuming depending on your mechanical ability.

Shop around, some dealers just throw a number out there just because. It only actually takes them an hour but the Spyder will sit for 3 1/2 just so they can charge you for the 3 1/2 hours.
