• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spewing fuel

The other day I was riding with another member of my Military Veterans MC on the way to a wedding. We stopped for a minute at a small truck stop. When I went to restart my :spyder2:, I smelled gas and then noticed fuel running out from under the bike. Removed the side panel but couldn't see the source of the leak but I could hear it every time I pressed the starter button.

I had a fuel pressure regulator installed before the Gatlinburg trip. Could be the hose to that or could be the hose to the fuel pump. Or could be.......

Had the :spyder2: towed to where I have my service done and they will look at it today. Under warranty so I'm not overly concerned. Just don't want to lose anymore days of riding in this unusually mild November weather!!

Rule of thumb= Go back to the last thing that was done.

Why did you think you needed a fuel pressure regulator. I think if BRP ENGINEERS thought one was needed they would have one in their product DESIGN. just a thought

Check the hose going from the intake to the fuel filter. My guess is the leak is coming from the fuel filter connection. It's an easy fix with a worm gear clamp.

Customization and personalization is what life is all about. Plus, if he has an aftermarket exhaust and intake an aftermarket FPR will complement those mods nicely.

Was it the fuel pressure mod that Evoluzione sells?
Did you install it or have someone else do it?

It's a bit tricky as you have to cannibalize the stock fuel pressure unit.

Also, do you have the cap installed on the threaded 'banjo' stem-- where you can hook up a gauge to test pressure?

Two brothers juice box will allow for more fueling and is plug and play. The problem with a fuel pressure regulator is you are increasing pressure at idle to get the correct amount of fuel up top. The JB is stock pressure at idle and has a linear inrease in fuel as rpm's increase which are adjustable for fine tuning, you can not get that with a FPR.

I agree...I love mods but some can create more of a headache than they're worth...it's true that the more you do, the more potential problems you'll create...

Also, would never think of going to a wedding on a bike...that's one of the few times I actually try to look good!

Free flowing intake and exhaust equals lean fuel condition. you need more fuel to correct.

Bull,

I have the hindle, green filter, and the juicebox...I've seen considerable improvements with this combination...of course you can always take out the air box and improve, but no biggie for me...I am too busy to spend lots of time with the Spyder...I'm happy to find time to actually go for a ride...

Correct, but at the time the JB was not available for the Spyder - so many of us went with the fuel pressure mod - which does help a bunch-- but the MPG is pretty bad-- at least where I'm running the pressure (around 62 psi compared to 50 psi stock).

The mod to the FPR basically just put an adjustable screw/nut on it so you can adjust the spring which will adjust the PSI. The actual FPR is a component of the stock Spyder - it's just not an adjustable one.

I understand, if you hunt on ebay now they have JB Boxes for about $210 with free shipping.
