• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I guess I'm just old school. Spelling mistakes bother me. Here are several I have seen the past several months that bug me a lot.

Break vs brake - Break is when you bust something. Brake is what you actuate with your foot to come to a stop. Spell check is dumb. It doesn't know the difference.

Tie vs tye - Tie means to join. Tye, well it ain't the right spelling!

Heard and herd - Heard is what happens when sound tickles your ear drum and your brain interprets it. Herd is a bunch of cows!

Ryde and ride - As long as we're talking Spyders, I'll accept ryde. Any other brand, you better use ride. Don't want to insult your Spyder, do you?

Reel and real - Reel is what you have on your fishing pole. Real is what ain't fake!

I may add more as I come across them!

Right on:

I'm on your side with this one.

While I DO agree with you... :D :2thumbs:
How important is it? :dontknow:

I've given up on the communicative skills of our species; I'm going back to just grunting, and biting!

ME TO, or is it ME TOO...?

me to, or is it 'me too'....
it's "TOO".. meaning 'also'...
then there is YOUR & YOU'RE... YOUR meaning ownership, as in YOUR SPYD3R, and YOU'RE meaning YOU ARE, as in YOU'RE the owner of that SPYD3R...
then we have PAIR, PIER & PEAR... PAIR meaning 2, PEER as in a couple of friends, PIER as in a boat PIER, and PEAR as in the fruit...

come guys a gals... add your words...

TO, Too, Two is a big time misspell. There, Their is another one. :yikes: Tom :trike:

i am a very bad speller, so i make a lot of mistakes. but i personally feel the English language should be changed so that words that sound alike but are spelt different should all be changed to one spelling

One of my favorites is the number four...We spell the number 4, "four" until we count to forty, then we change it for????

The whole (hole) spelling thing needs revamped...

I would class myself as very old school and spelling mistakes really annoy me.

So does "I could care less" when it should be "I couldn't care less".

I guess I'm a sad old f***t with nothing better to do than criticize the grammar here.

Obviously people don't mind appearing ignorant in public.

WasWinger,

Let's not forget where we are at. It's spyderlovers.com, where spelling errors and lack of punctuation abound. You'll not change anyone on here, and you'll only get more aggravated thinking about it. It is what it is.
