Speedometer lens & ignition switch cover

I'm new on this and I need the help of all of Can Am Spyder experts... I own a 2011 Can Am RS-S and I need to replace the speedometer lens and the top plastic cover for the ignition switch (the part that says ON, OFF) .. For the speedometer lens do I need any special tools to take it apart? Or I can do it myself? And the ignition switch do I have to take too many parts out or just pull up the plastic?

Im listening to any of your advise. Thanks

its funny you ask this, i have an issue with the same exact 2 parts. For the On off cover thing the guy i bought the bike from had the part but never put it on, when i took it to have the handle bar risers put on they threw it on for me. I beleive it just twists to unlock then you can pull it out. As for the lens over the speedometer mine has like some dried condensation or something on the inside of the plastic like it needs to be cleaned or replaced. In order to get it out you have to remove the whole gauge assembly which is pretty easy and covered under changing the headlight in the manual, then pretty much take apart the whole gauge assembly to get the plastic loose. Im not saying its really hard but did seem like a pain. When i unclipped the gauges from the power to start taking it apart i got paranoid it was going to screw with the odometer (it didnt) so i put it back together and hooked it back up and let it go for the moment. If you get through the whole process let me know and maybe i will try mine again. The part was only about $11 direct from BRP/Can am or cheapcycleparts.com

Depends..!

on how handy and brave you are. Not that hard as you saw from above post. I do recomment you invest in a shop manual if you are going to do your own work. Twenty bucks online and you will be able to do more than just those repairs.

One thing I learned when plugging the plug back into the cluster, be very careful to line it up and push slowly, I bent one of the pins, I'm assuming that if I had broke it off an whole new cluster. If there is any resistance pull it back and check the little pins.

Thanks......

Hey Latony007.... I received my parts yesterday and today I changed the switch cover exactly like you suggested and it works, for the speedometer lens I removed the necessary parts and started to removed the lens little by little all around.... I unclipped the plastic that hold the lens together and little by little i was trying to pull it out.... Like you!!! I was paranoic because I did't want the plastic that stay to broke.... Well!!!! I did it!!!! I was proud of my self because I don't have any PATIENCE... And that you need to change the lens.... It took me 7 minutes... Sometimes when you unclipped one part the other one locked again and that is when PATIENCE comes aboard... LOL.... If I did it!!!!! Anyone can do it...... Believed me.

I bough my parts at 2wheelpro.com it was the cheapes out there..... Good luck and let me know how it goes.

....you guys had been great....

Ok you convinced me i will order the part. If i break it i will just hunt you down lol.
I wonder how long you can leave it unplugged and keep the info in the gauges, must have some kind of watch battery in there or something.
Anyone know why i can't get the clock to show up every time i turn on the spyder?
