• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Speeding Ticket

Hi everyone.
Your speeding tickets in the USA are cheap, over here in OZ they range up to $1000 and the cheapest is about $200. If you do 45 kph over the limit, you get your vehicle confiscated and towed away. You are then up for towing and storage fees as well as automatically losing you licence for three months or if you go to court possibly 12 months.

I would imagine in OZ they really want to slow drives down, Wear as here all they want is the money,
If no one sped where would the government get that extra money. :dontknow:

Raise taxes ?.:yikes:

The governments here in OZ are only money grabbers. If they were genuine about road safety they would have more visible Highway Patrol vehicles on the road. As it is here in New South Wales (east coast of OZ) a Police Sergeant friend of mine say's the Highway Patrol is 1/3 under strength and the government will not replace them, but are spending more money on fixed and hidden speed camera's as well as unmarked stationary speed camera vehicles operated by a private company. If a private company is operating speed camera's on behalf of the government, then that company will be getting as many speeding vehicles as possible because they are operating on a percentage of the fines basis. That is not road safety...that's money grabbing.

Driving Legally since I was 16 AND illegally before that..56 years and counting!!!

No tickets YET...seriously it isn't that I haven't broken the speed limit or done other law breaking...just never been caught....there was more than once on my last journey when I saw the police that I said outloud, to self, oh crap, immediately checked my speed and watched the rearview mirrors.:yikes:..phew ... that is why I love cruise control ... I reallllly do like to travel FAST...not Seth and Doc fast but :thumbup:Ms Spyder can scoot down the road!!!!

No tickets, wants or warrants for a long, long time. Last one was excess of 100 in a 30.............

It was a set-up....I was setting the cops up for a race....I won!

They countered with a John Doe warrant...."believed to be...." Beat that and decided to try behaving, which seems to be working so far.

As someone said earlier, the best answer is: Yes sir, Yes sir, and ok sir. Remember, they are only doing what they are paid to do. That being said, it doesn't hurt to ask if they feel generous and give a warning!!!!

I lived in Black Rock (near Melbourne) for a year in 2009/2010 and I got a taste of the speed camera set up at the lights (going 3 and 11 km over the same week for $400).
However I kinda understand why they put there as it was not uncommon to see 2 or 3 car in a row going over the red light.

A friend just sent me this:

WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A TRAFFIC TICKET

This advice was sent by a retired State Farm agent! This system has
been tried and it works in every state.

If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light, or whatever
the case may be, you're going to get points on your license and a
surcharge on your auto insurance. This is a method to insure that you
DO NOT get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine is
$79.00 make the check out for $82.00, some small amount over the fine.
The system will then have to send you back a check for the difference.
However, here is the trick: DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK! Throw it
away! THAT'S RIGHT..THROW IT AWAY...

Points are not assessed to your license until all Financial Transactions
are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are
NOT complete. The system has received its money and is satisfied and
will no longer bother you.

This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that sets up the standard databases used by every state.

The whole "writing a check for too much " theory is 100% urban legend. Doesn't work. Total made up hogwash!

:agree: :gaah: By paying the fine you have plead "guilty"... Your overpayment actually just will cost you more money since the Court has additional expenses involved in refunding the overpayment...

Bail Money!!!

From Insurance to Bail Bondsman, Bob Denman does it all! This is where if I had photoshop skills I would put Bob's face on Dog the Bounty Hunter's body.

RANDY HELP ME OUT.
