Special tools to take rear wheel off?

I need to take my rear wheel off to black it out and was wondering if I need any special tool? I've watched videos and it seems like something I can do.
Does axle slide out easily or do you have to muscle it out or need special tool?

I only need to take rear wheel off and take apart sprocket and the disc. No bearing replacement. Do you need to take hub apart in order to take sprocket apart?

I only need to take rear wheel off and take apart sprocket and the disc. No bearing replacement. Do you need to take hub apart in order to take sprocket apart? No, Sprocket Itself is not bolted down.

You still have to take off lower bolt on Shock to release tension on belt for axle to come out.

You also need the big wrench for the bolts 32 or 36mm can't remember but I found low priced thin ones that are for automotive fan clutches they are flat and about 1/4 in thick so I can carry with me when you take out the shock bolt and lower the swing arm the belt tension will go away and the axle will come out pretty easy remember you need to strap the swing arm so it will only drop a few inches and of course the rear of the bike needs to be hanging or on a jack the sprocket lifts right off it's just in with rubber cushions

When you say blacking out the wheel, I'm assuming your saying Powdercoating it.

If this is the case you have to take the wheel totally apart, that means hub, bearings and seals need to come out. You can not put bearings and seals in the oven to powdercoat. You will need the Spanner nut tool and Snap ring pliers as well.

Depending on how many miles on bearings and seals, it might be a good time to have those changed while it's apart.

:agree: Swap 'em out since it's already apart and you won't have to be doing it again when it's not a handy time for the process. :shocked:

I am just plasti-dipping it. I can do it with rear wheel on spyder but I thought if I have time, it would be a good practice for next time when I need tire change. The time it takes to take wheel off and on might not be that much more than extra prep time to do it with wheel on spyder but since I've never took rear wheel off before so it might take quite bit of time.
Will be taking fronts off.

All bearings and rear sprocket were replaced 4500 miles ago so I figure they will be good til next tire change in 3-4000 mile.

If its jacked up with the shock bolt out and you roll the wheel out and let the swingarm down It will stretch the wires underneath to the point of breaking!
As I roll the tire out the back end I have double 2x6 about 16 inches high/long wedged under the front part of the swingarm so it DOESN,T drop down and stretch the wires.. I just did this for 2 second time yesterday.

You may need a big sledge hammer to beat out pin. Just sayin.
