• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

spark plug wires

I'm looking to see what up grade wires are out there, are they hard to put in or what. I figure with an up grade will also help with some of the CB noise. Thanks Gary

BajaRon is the only source of upgrade wires that I know of...unless you try to make your own. Plugs and plug wires on an RT are a pain, but if you are reasonably mechanically inclined, know a couple of good cuss words, and have a few hours to spare, they are really no big deal.

what noise are you getting? we are hearing noise only on TRANSMISSION OUT on our CB and only when moving. so far have upgraded to Baja Ron's spark plug wires and Irridium plugs, upgraded CB antenna to J&M attenna, and just yesterday dealer installed new updated BRP Ground Straps (they are double the thickness of the orignal braids) for the CB and the AM/FM Radio also a better shielded OEM antenna cable from for the CB and AM/FM radio (from BRP). no go... still have issue.

there was one SMALL ground strap that dealer did not know yet where to install. hoping Monday BRP tech is open as they are in Canada I assume. to tell dealer where to install final very short ground strap and that fixes things. if not next step have dealer replace CB Radio .. after that not sure what else. has to be a ground loop somewhere..

Itty-Bitty antenna's

Harmonics & Frequency, you may want to check your Standing Wave Ratio "SWR" for the antenna. 11 meter antenna's for full wave length should be 36' long, that would look ridiculous on the RT. so they cut them down and try and load them to accomidate for the lack of length. If there is any wire carrying a signal of any amptitude it will cause interference. We use to use condenser's to create a shunt for the interference. I'm not into CB's on any type of motorcycle so have never experienced this situation. But being a non-active Ham Radio Operator, I have been thru all sorts of difficulties working with "You Can't See My Antenna Now" senario's.. "Good Luck".. Try a CB shop and have them check your antenna's "SWR" 1st. Anything above a 1.5 is unacceptable and the Manufacturer should be " STONED" in Public!

Maybe I should pull my mobile station out of the truck and mount it in the trailer for the:spyder2: . :roflblack:

wires

I sure want to thank everybody for the come back, one of the things we have found is 4000 RPM and below out going signal to other riders is good but once I get above that everybody says my radio sound like I'm getting a lot of static. this is why some feel like it might be engine sound. Not sure but Honda radios sound so much better. Fhanks for everybodys input. I guess we just keep playing with differnt things. Thanks again Gary

Cb issues and plug wires

Gary, we have the exact same issues. A dead CB was replaced and now we can hear but transmission is just as you said. Please PM me so we can talk personally about this as it is really bugging me. I need more info before going back to the dealer for help. Thanks

It sounds like a lot of us have this same problem and I'm going to keep going on this until we get some answers. All my friends say the can hear me but there is a lot of stacic or wind sound. I'm leaving tomarrow for Branson but I will follow up when I get back. I'll keep in touch. I'm going to stop at a CB shop and see if they can't help. Thanks GUYS
