• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

May sound like a unworthy question but I would like to know where syder riders keep their spare keys? I have a 2014 RTS.

I keep an unchipped "Dummy" in the glovebox, and pitch my "chipper" into the mess in the bottom of the top trunks for long trips...
Wait... You're not going to look me and my bike up now; are you??? :roflblack: :joke:

I also have a 2014 RT. After looking for a couple of days at the Spyder, I wanted the extra key to be available without actually breaking a latch or doing damage. The best location for me - remove your LH side panel, near the top is the headlight adjustment screw. Go back just a little ways and you'll see a small frame with two holes. I taped my key in electrician's tape to make it waterproof and tie-wrapped it to one of those frame holes. Now if I truly loose my main key, I can get to my spare without breaking anything and unless you know exactly where it is, no one will readily locate it.

I keep a full set of spare keys out of sight locked in the trunk. Spyder key, Givi key, alarm remote and helmet cable lock key. I have a hidden unchipped key in a easily accessible location hidden under the bodywork to open the trunk.

Here's what I do..!!

carry active one on a lanyard around the neck. A spare in my pants pocket. One tends to toss the coat into the frunk and presto no key...but zip tied to many places easy to get to...

Spare kept in inside pocket

I leave my normal used key on my key chain with it's fob.

No need yet for un chipped keys, I hope... ;-)

The wife(SDM) and I have each others spare on our :ani29:'s and I have a unchiped key in a saddlebag, since we ryde together most of the time not much chance of trouble.

I don't know if I'd keep it in a saddlebag...
If you lock up the rear of the bike (with the frunk still open...), it'd be possible to throw the "good" key in a jacket pocket, and pitch it into the frunk... :yikes:

+1 for the lanyard around my neck. I use the IPS and carry the other one on the lanyard, along with my trailer key and the key to the padlock for my cable I use to secure the trailer when I travel.

Bob,I have an RS,my saddlebags are soft add-on bags that zipper closed,I have locks on them(don't lock often but keep the key in zippered pocket so it is always acessable.

I have a "hidden" pocket in the jacket where I keep the spare for the Givi bag and in the Givi I have another Spyder key taped to the bottom... covered in black electrical tape so it doesn't really show.

Always wearing my jacket, so will always have that spare Givi.
Never ride without my Givi's attached so will always have the spare Spyder key!
(And if anyone can figure all that out... they deserve it!)
