• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spare key

Hi Tyris,

Re: do you carry your spare key - - where do you carry it?

Yes, I do carry one on my Spyder. No, I am not going to tell anyone where it is.

"......... No, I am not going to tell anyone where it is."

Absolutely understandable.

When I tavel alone I don't use carry the spare key but yes when I travel with my wife. Then the spare key
travels with her. You now, fortunately, is easier to lose the key than your wife.

It is a good idea find a "secret & save " place to carry. I'll start thinking on it.
How was that of thinking? :roflblack:

Could I remember that "secret & save " place in the future? :yikes: Maybe it was not such a good idea.;)

Yes I carry one. If you can find an Ilco 270X blank and have it cut to your Spyder key it will work to open any of of the locked compartments that you have.
However, a little file work is necessary. For my F3 the notches on the edges of the key were too low I filed new ones to match up with those on the original key. A lil fine tuning and it works like a charm. Slip in to your wallet and you are good to go.

I have the spare key under the seat with Velcro. I have a spare key from a blank that only unlocks but won't start in my wallet to unlock the seat.

I never leave the house without a spare key. I keep it locked in the rear trunk, and have an unchipped key hidden on the bike that I can get to without tools in case I lose the ignition key, some disassembly required ;). When off the bike the ignition key is on a carabiner on a belt loop rather than a pocket. (Learned that the hard way). I also have a BRP programmed key (not a clone) that never leaves the house.

I do...😆

Carry a spare...in my pocket and the one in use on a lanyard around my neck with oem sheath...and one more at home if all else fails...

We carried spare keys with us on our RV trip, one for each bike and carried them on our persons when riding.
