• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sorry for the snowbirds!

We Have Killed Winter!

Or at least put a stake though it's miserable heart! nojoke

We are now ready for it's worst... and that means that we won't see any!

Double trouble 001.jpgDouble trouble 002.jpg

Yesterday (As the temperatures hit 50!), I finished putting together the 'Thrower on the right.
Troy-Bilt's Vortex 3090 XP
It's a three-Stage snowthrower with power steering, heated grips, a powered discharge chute adjustment, and a real headlight! (No more flashlights on the hat!)
We can't wait to give it a try...

...Which means that we won't see snow for at least a full year!
But it's worth it!

That is a really nice Troy Bilt. Liking mine and used it yesterday for the first time since the surgery. It was like walking behind a motorized walker. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: I get to use it again today.

I am in a bit of a dilemma now. Dealer has a 2011 Kawi Voyager (1700 cc) with only 4,000 miles on the clock. We are talking about the dealer writing me a check for about $2,500 in trade of my 2011 :ani29: RT A & C. It has 23,000 miles on the clock. Trunk light, comfort seat, running lights, and seal floorboards are the only options on the :spyder2:. The Kawi looks so new, it is scary.

Should I go for that dangerous test drive?

EDIT: Update: I went down to the dealer and "test sat" on the Kawi. The seat was a bit high and I did not feel "comfortable" with that big and heavy of a two wheeler this go around. I am guessing my "big iron" days have come to an end.

Fortunately, I still have my two :spyder2::f_spider:'s. Each needs an oil change/filter service, the 2011 needs a new battery, and the 2014 needs front tires. After that, I should be good to go for another season. See you on the road in two or three weeks. Subject to the snow melting--of course.:yes:

Funny... I created this thread for fun... It turned into another kind of fun!

LMAO... I am always amazed how things go here sometimes :)

Thanks for the inspirational ride. I am getting the "itch" for some big iron again. Currently considering a Kawi 1700 Vacquero. The look and feel of the HD Road King or the F3 T.--but about 5K to 15K less expensive. The Candy Apple Red is especially nice this season. Will let you know if the 2011 is going away. I will be keeping the 2014 1330 though. Linda still needs a ride.:yes:

Good luck with your choice of new ride. I had a 2012 Vaquero that I foolishly traded in on my 13 Spyder STS. I am currently selling the Spyder as I gave it a go for two years and just don't care for the ride anymore. I just picked up an 05 Road King Custom for a great price at my local HD shop. This thing rides like a Caddy and the previous owner appears to have taken great care of it. He left his guardian bells on it and while I was looking at them to remove made a discovery of sorts. The one bell was removed as it was an HD skull and I don't want skulls of any sort on my bike. The other however was a Police bell which is kinda cool since I am a prior USAF Security Police. I left that bell and will be attaching my Air Force bell. What color Vaquero are you looking at? Mine was Candy Plasma Blue and I ended up putting white wall tires on it...boy did those change the looks and make it "pop"

One never knows what a thread will turn into. At least, this one did not turn political. :roflblack::roflblack:

The current color is candy apple red.

Rumor has it that they sold HAARP to the Russians. The technicians should be arriving in the Glennallen area before to long. The people from the Glennallen area are looking at this as a economic turn up. I here that they are going to open at least three Borscht restaurants, a bunch of cheap motels, and some Vodka only liquor establishments. You heard this first here--and its on the internet.

CHEAP INSURANCE!

 You guys are mean...

But I just ordered the Missus a new snowblower for her birthday!
You do what you have to do... :dontknow:

My Honey bought a snowblower in late fall and at this point is calling it cheap insurance; so far, so good, as we haven't had any snow. So now he just goes out in the garage and smiles at it. AND IT'S 73 degrees here today! Like he said, CHEAP INSURANCE.......:dg1:

Thanks!

I made this video for my co-workers and my new commute.

But I thought I would share it here to show why I live in California!

We have had a ton of rain (much needed so not unhappy about that) and this is the first day in weeks I could ride my Spyder to work.

Yes sorry... "I am a fair weather rider" :)

Anyway.... What a beautiful day to commute! Added some music which is appropriate :)

Bob

Thanks for the ride, the great weather and the GREAT Beach Boys Tunes......matter of fact, think I'll dance along.........:dg2:
