There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Sore Bottom Anatomy

I hate :opps: to have to address this issue but I am really getting a pain in the butt (and front anatomy - trying to keep it clean and concise!).

After I ryde my RT-S for about an hour I really start to get numb in the nether regions. :yikes: I have the stock RT-S Saddle and am looking at the Corbin (been reading all the write-ups) and it appears the way to go (I have had a variety of Corbin Gunslinger Saddles in the past and always a quality product). I do not have this issue with my stock saddle on my Honda Valkyrie Interstate so I am wondering if it is an known issue with the Spyder (and reason why so many go with the Corbin!). I do try to move around on the stock saddle but I am a fairly good size fellow and when I have two up, there really is no room to maneuver.

Being relatively new to the Spyder, are their other manufacturers out there as an alternative to the Corbin? I want to explore all the avenues to make sure that I am getting the best bang for my buck!

Any feedback or suggestion would be great.

I found the stock seat very comfprtable compared to the RS I had. I went with the Corbin because of the fuel door and as much as I hate to admit it, they look better than the stock seat.

I also have the same issue with an RS stock seat and a BRP comfort seat. I got a Russell Day-Long. they built the seat to fit your butt. Russell uses your seat pan to built it. I don't know if they have done an RT yet. Here is a pic of mine and their web site.View attachment 8528

I have the Corbin seat but I also have an added beaded seat. It worked great on our cross-country trip in May...about the only thing that DIDN'T hurt was my butt. Others have gel seats and RTGENE (AKA SpyderGene AKA BMWGene AKA PITA) has some sort of special padded seat...all seem to work well

Jim, after our ride yesterday (close to 200 miles total for me), my jeans were still bunched up :yikes:... even with the Corbin seat. I am wondering if something soft and absorbent between my bottom and the leather might help. :dontknow:

A sheepskin covering over a gel pad is absolutely terrific on my little butt. I can ride hundreds of miles with it and no creeping or discomfort.

We switched to the Corbin and I use an Alaska Leathers sheepskin on top of the Corbin. For us this has been as close to perfect as I'll ever get on motorcycle seat. I also have beads and plant switch them and the sheepskin on trips.

My experience is that if you wear jeans your butt will hurt. I have found that LD Comfort underwear really helps on long trips. Sometimes I'll wear just that under my riding pants. Another good bet is bicycle shorts under your riding pants. They are very comfortable, too. But I really try to avoid jeans.

I HIGHLY recommend this seat! You have to send them your stock seat for them to convert it.

While I have a heated Corbin (and LOVE it) do the guys at Kon Tour reuse BRP's covering?

I just wished it would have been nice if Corbin could have made my seat using BRP's leather so my PE# would match the PE sticker for my trailer.

RT seat is comfortable but does have a tendancy of pinching the cheeks after awhile. I added the beaded seat cover and it does eliminate the pinching and it is also cooler riding.

I was thinking of trying the beaded seat option first as an early fix. I don't understand why I get so numb on this saddle but not on my Valkyrie Interstate and it's a stocker as well. This is almost the same feeling I would get when I go bicycle riding for extended rides and forget to wear my special biking "under shorts" that pads the nerve that runs through that area. Been well known to cause male issues and other pains in the rear ends.

I too have experienced the sore a$$ after a couple hours of continuous riding. I have tried the beaded seat cover, and the gel pad seat cover. While I'll admit the gel pad was better than the bead seat cover, I was still sore and very uncomfortable. I put 365 miles on the RT this past Labor Day weekend. After 4 hours of riding with about a half hour break after 2 plus hours of riding, my posterior was killing me by the time I pulled into the garage. At this point I will take the winter to research my other options, I had a Corbin saddle on my RS, way better than the stock seat, but still had about a 2 hour window and then I had to get off for awhile. Not sure what I will do at this point, kind of sucks to have a touring bike you can only ride comfortably for 2 hours. May have to consider the Russell option or perhaps have a custom seat maker look at it for me. :gaah:
