There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Something to check if you have Battery drain issue

In theory, a 21 amp hour battery draining at the rate of 0.103 amps would last 203+ hours, or about 8.5 days. In reality, it will last less. First, once below a certain voltage threshold, it will not operate the Spyder's systems some time before it is completely dead, so the entire 21 amp hours may not be useable. Second, a battery's capacity deteriorates with time, so while a fresh battery may have 21 amp hours or more of capacity, an older battery could have less. Finally, this is not the only current draw on a Spyder. The computers, clock, etc., have a tiny draw, so there is more than 0.103 amps likely being drawn overall.

:agree: + 1 more factor that will cut into the theroretical 21 amp hr spec. As voltage drops due to the drain, amps used will go up further reducing the time.

In the process of my tire change away from my home dealer I casually mentioned the drain issue as discussed here. Told them where to look on the BRP site and what was expected. Didn't give it another thought until they called me yesterday and informed me that BRP agrees with their readings (which I didn't know they took) and authorized the radio module replacement. Heap big suprise, will be fixed soon and maybe that will be the end of this drain saga, well at least for me. Great to find folks that are taking the initiative and customer focused.

I changed mine out and that fixed my problem.

Thanks man, my ride is currently in the shop for this very issue. I travel a lot and my Spyder will sit for a week or so at a time. They have replaced two batteries at this point.

It is the top right hand fuse found in the frunk's fuse box. If you have the liner, unzip it to reveal the fuse box dust cover, then you have unsnap the actual fuse cover right undernieght.

Take care,

Randy

Just got a call from the dealer, after BRP intervention (thanks Carlo), they are saying it was the radio module but replaced the battery as well. Happy trails to me!

WOOHOO, Tuesday id the day

Mine goes in for the radio module replacement. In all fairness to BRP, the reason it has not been done yet is because I was out of town. The module was sitting there waiting for me to get back home. Time to see if this stops my drainage issues:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

32 hours on the battery tender and its still red. Looks like another battery for me. Was feeling good yesterday about taking it in on Tuesday, but now I will trailer it in. The blood pressure is on the rise again because of this Spyder. If it were a horse, I would have shot it by now.:banghead:

Fixed

Radio module replaced this past Friday. Have had zero problems since. That's what this forum is all about. A Laurel and Hearty wreath to Lamont.

Checked the battery with my meter. 4.8 volts. Now it looks like I will have them come and get this thing.

Planned on a nice ride to the dealer this morning but they would not let me sit on the spyder after they loaded it on the trailer. I did see a tractor trailer full of crated roadsters and was thinking.....Was the last time my RT went down the highway with NO issues was when it was still in the crate?????:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

Massive draw

Took the spyder to my brothers place since I couldn't get a stable reading, he took his meter tried milliamperes . Jumped all over the place, changed to amps 2.17 draw:yikes: looks like a new
radio module. Because if I don't ride for 4 days she won't start.

Happy trails!

When I informed my Can AM dealer "Hi Country Motorsports, Cheyenne Wy" about the battery drain problem they immediately tested the radio module current draw and told me a new radio module was coming. The tec also came out and suggested that if I had to leave the bike set for an extended period until the module came in I could pull the F7 fuze until I was ready to ride again. Glad to report another dealership that's trying to stay on top of recurring problems.

:dontknow: Fuse F6 serves the radio. Fuse F7 is for the trailer module and reverse actuator. Pulling it would do no good.
