• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had several LED replacements for the 1157 bulb, I had replaced the license plate housing with a cats eye housing and put a LED in all worked fine. Then I thought wonder what will happen if I replaced the running- brake lamps also. I replaced one checked lights all was well, when i replaced the second one I got a traction control fault engine fault and went to limp mode. I know they are lower amperage. Put the two old 1157 back in and all was well.Talking about finicky!

When you replaced the 1157's with LEDs The computer read that both tail lights were out.
LEDs = less power draw. You would need a resistor in line to fool the computer and make it think it was drawing more power like the 1157's

This is good to know. I thought that the new LED's had circuitry in them to make them 'look' like regular bulbs to the computer.

This high level of Nanny monitoring seems to be working against us as much as for us. Time to back them off a bit.

My old Saab 9000 would show a bad light warning if the bulbs got too old or the contacts got dirty even tho they still worked fine. Quite a pain most times.

You CAN put 1157 LED bulbs in the taillights if you use the right kind.

I've had LI-1157RCZ bulbs in my Spyder for over 2 years with no problems at all. They have the proper load equalizers to fool the computer.

Pilot 1157 bulbs

Bought these lights. They work fine. Available at http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-LI-1157...PTU6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1317313245&sr=8-7 and other places

yes I had to do the resistor in my 57 Chevy, I just did not think it was that touchy feely.

I used the Pilot LI1157RCZ and they worked fine for 3 months then one side lost the running light portion and I went back to regular 2357 bulbs because I can get 6 Pair of them for the price of the Pair of Pilot.
Between 1157, 2057 and 2357 = 2357 Provide the Brightest Brake light and difference between Running and Brake!nojoke
