• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Someone please help me.

Last night I noticed only one of my glo ryders was glowing. When I shut the Spyder off, the glo was still glowing. It finally went off. At 11 PM I drove the Spyder home and noticed the same one was still glowing when I shut the Spyder off. This morning it is still on. I got my book out to see how to put the battery tender on, but I do not have tools to take the side cover off and not sure I could if I had tools. So would someone please tell me what I can do to keep the battery from running down? Does anyone know how to take the glo ryders off and why one is not working at all? I just don't know what to do. Will someone PLEASE help? And thank you in advance. Sandy

The GloRyders operate on threee AA batteries. To get to the board you need to remove the two hex head screws on the outside cover. Pull the cover off to access the board. The board will have one battery socket on the outside and two on the inside. To remove the board loosen the two smaller philips head screw, rotate the board and pull out. There is a small toggle switch on the board. The center position turns it off. One side turns in on all the time for show mode. The other position is for normal operation. The GloRyders should only turn on with motion and low light. When you come to a stop the GloRyders should turn off after about a minute.

THANK YOU Y Ryder and Doug B

I am so relieved to know the Spyder battery will not run down on account of the Glo Ryders being on. The one on right wheel has never been on and only recently the left one has decided to come on in daylight and nighttime. Strange. I'll work on it and see if I can resolve the problem. However, I need to purhase some tools first. Thanks again. I am most grateful. Sandy

The two allen wrenchs I got with my GloRyders don't seem to fit for the two outside screws that hold on the cover. I ended up using a metric allen and it fit perfectly. Not sure of the size but just get a small set and it should have the right size.

One other thing to check. Make sure the rubber O-Ring is clean along with the inside edge of the outer cover. If the seal is not good you will get water inside on the board. Water and electronics do not work well together.

Sandy,
Glo Ryders are a sponsor of our site here... Maybe if you take a look at their website it'll give you some background information on their product. At the very least you might even find a helpline phone number??? :opps:

It sounds like a battery issue. I replace the batteries on each wheel at the start of the season and they usually last me until I park it in October.

THANK YOU, AGAIN!

Thank you, to all of you great people for advising and helping me. Once I found out my Spyder battery was not going to suffer, I put the problem off for a bit. I just have so much going on with the construction here. I should get to it tomorrow and if I have any trouble, I will most certainly call the Glo Ryder people. Thanks again. This is such a great site with so many fine folks helping others.

Just remember that they will stay on for a minute or two after you stop...this is so that if you are at a stop light at nighttime, you still benefit from the lights.
