• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so i am watching a show the other night and a guy is telling a story on how his house got broken into. he said he was in his basement and he hears a big bang upstairs and he hears foot steps running all over upstairs. so he climbs up the basement steps and looks under the door and he can see people taking all his stuff and putting it by the front door. so as soon as he felt he had a chance he opened the basement door and left through the back yard door and ran to the driveway, there he sees a truck sitting in the driveway with no one in it and it is running, so figuring it was the thieves truck he jumps into it and leaves with the truck. at that point he calls 911, you hear him talking on the phone with 911 and he he tells them the guys are in his house right now and he took their truck so come over right away.
so what do you think the 911 operator said to him, she said sir they are on the way and you can be arrested for stealing their truck. the cops caught the guys and all his stuff was by the front door to load the truck so all his stuff was saved, but what is this world coming to when your being robbed and you can be arrested for stopping it by taking the robbers truck.
it is the same when someone kills someone and get 3 years and a poor person steals a loaf of bread to feed his family and can get more time for that???

:roflblack:
But I should clarify something...
Lawyers seem to be making the laws since they seem to be the only ones who have enough money to run for public office anymore...

Always remember that the 911 operator is just that, an operator. He/She is not an officer of the law nor are they generally members of the bar, so getting/listening to legal advice from them is up to the listener....

The 911 operator was correct in making the person understand he was breaking the law, too. He was not arrested, he was just informed that what he was doing was wrong. He would have been better off shutting off the truck and throwing the keys into the bushes.

Had some over-exuberant police officer arrested him, I doubt a prosecutor would have run with the case . . . nor would a jury ever convict him, given the circumstances.

But it would cost him hundreds of dollars per hour for the lawyer to get him off....and, yes, he would have to pay it.

Amen! You have no idea how high a percentage of property crime is committed by junkies trying to get money for the next fix. :cus: with very likely cranked up on who knows what thieves; is a great way to turn a robbery into a murder. I dealt with literally hundreds of cases, over the years, that conformed to that sad script.
