• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Some fantastic footage here…………………………….

1940s Aircraft Carrier Color Video. Even OLD Navy guys will really enjoy this and this old Boatswain's Mate did enjoy this -- 1940's Aircraft Carrier In The Pacific - Rare color footage.

This is 16mm color (not "colorized") footage that you may not have seen of carrier action in the Pacific.

Not many color shots were made in the '40's - extremely expensive then, with a complicated and exacting processing procedure.

My Dad was on an aircraft tender in WW2 the AV4 Curtis. There were over 3000 men on that ship. These were large floating machine shops, repair stations supply stations for the seaplanes. The picture of the men swimming off the side of the ship reminded me of a story he told us of being in a lagoon somewhere and going swimming when the ship decided to empty its sewage tanks. The swimmers didn't understand where all those brown floaty things were coming from.
