• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone on here use the solar Battery Tender from Deltran? If so what was your experience with it and did it keep the battery charged over the long winter months. I live in Michigan and have no power running to the pole barn. Usually I take the batteries out and bring them in the house and keep connected to a tender inside. This is the first year with the Spyder and some have said not to take the battery out. Not sure why that is because in the event of a dead battery or changing you have to disconnect it anyway. Any suggestions from the group on what to do with the battery maintenance for the winter??

I have a 2013 STS:ani29: if that makes a difference..

:welcome:

Sorry to say I know nothing of what you speak. I use battery tenders but never a solar, didn't even know they existed.

Hope you get your question answered.

If you have a good supply of sun directly on the solar panel, and start with a well charged battery, it will maintain the charge. Some years ago my plane was hangered without power and i put a small solar on the roof and kept it plugged in all the time. Kept the battery charged. Don't know what charge it put out but it was very minimal. Worked tho.

Sure..!!

will work fine as long as you have decent sunlight. Tenders don't pull that much current as chargers do....you might have to check from time to time... have not heard that you can not remove the battery at all. :dontknow:

:agree: with Billy. It's that tough of a job (Remember; this is ME talking! :opps:). Access is at the rear of the Frunk. This'll also allow you to store the battery in a more "friendly" environment.

I have both a solar charger panel and a battery tender unit. Much to my surprise, I found out that the standard connectors are different polarities! Oooops!

Be sure you check this as you don't want to discharge or 'kill' your battery! :banghead:
