• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Software update, trailer hitch, and...

Illinois Boy

I just got my '11 RTS back from the dealer after getting the trailer hitch put on it.

They checked it out, and upgraded the software (a more recent upgrade about the throttle-body again). I picked it up, and hooked my Spyder trailer to it and took a short ride tonight. (Living in the most northern section of Illinois... that is a treat in mid-April.)

Two things... first is the Spyder seemed to run a lot better than it did before. I know... sometimes you just think it does, but this time it really seemed to be a lot better... smoother... more responsive and with a bit more "punch". I know... I might be imagining it, but I don't think so.

Secondly, pulling the trailer was a breeze... and "yes", I realize it was empty... but still... it handled well.

I am happy so far.

Any hints, suggestions, or warnings about the trailer or pulling it would be welcome!

Hi there.... we have a 2010 RTS with the RT-622 trailer. Have over 19,000 miles on her now in just under 2 years of ownership, and have LOVED every minute of ryding our Spyder. We take the trailer about a quarter of the time we ryde, and find it trails beautifully. Have gotten very confident in traveling with the trailer, and have developed my backing up skills quicker than I thought I would.

Am happy to hear it's running good... we've had no problems with ours. Just got a new rear tire and rear brakes, and we're looking forward to many more miles of fun.

We are in the Lisle area, and like to get up to northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin often. Hope to catch you sometime on the road along the way!

Sandy & Bill

All I have to say is this...IF YOUR TRAVELING DOWN THE HI-WAY AND YOUR TRAILER PASSES YOU THERE IS SOMETHING VERY VERY WRONG:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:, in all seriousness these trailers are pretty easy to tow just remember your a bit longer so you dont run it over any curbs at a gas station:banghead::banghead: I did this once.

Greg, Good to hear you got the RT back and it is running good. Are you going to let your wife ever ride the the RT?

Any chance you will be able to come to Woodstock for the WIILY club meeting this weekend?

Hey Jeff... as I mentioned before... I obligated myself to a project in Central Illinois that will eat-up every single weekend from now until May 26th. I sometimes wonder why I cannot say "NO"! This has really cut into my riding and overall satisfaction with life!!:banghead:

So, once I get past that date things will begin to loosen-up a bit for me. There will still be a few months riding left by then... I hope.

The Spyder runs really well after the recent upgrade. Not sure what it did, but I like it.

Thanks for everyone's comments and advice.... and Sandy & Bill; hopefully we can run into each other along the way. I mostly ride in the southwest quadrant of Wisconsin where the bluffs, hills, and twisties are everywhere...
