• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Software recall

I'm assuming that this is about Warranty Campaign 2011-7. It is not a recall, though, it is a service bulletin. Your dealer went above and beyond to notify you. He gets an attaboy for that! Be sure to take care of this ASAP. It is important, to prevent future damage to the throttle positioner.

Agree about the dealer attaboy. But how would you know about this if he didn't call?

What does the Service Bulletin call for? I have no plans for dealer service any time soon unless the critter displays some problem, but is it something I need to ask dealer about?

You should have this done. There is a problem with the programming on the 2011 RTs that can cause the throttle positioner to fail. This update corrects that programming. If the throttle positioner starts to fail, and you get a check engine light when starting and certain throttle body fault codes, the entire throttle body must be replaced. In some cases the failures have incapacited the Spyders. The update in the service bulletin will help you avoid all that.

One more question: I only got mine out of the crate on 24 June. Might the bulletin have already been out then? At any rate, I'll check with dealer.

Thanks for feedback folks.

Thanks Scotty....good info. Will hoof it on down to dealer and have it checked out. Never got the 600 mi computer check anyway since they couldn't work me in so I did the oil/filters myself.

Just off the phone with Gulf Shores Power Sports here in the area. This is being done if your VIN is part of the campaign. Found out mine is so will be getting it done probably tomorrow.

Be Safe and Thanks to all here at spyderlovers for the heads up on this
