• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Socket Head Screws for Oil Filter Housings

Does anyone know what material the socket head screws for the oil filter housing are made of, stainless, carbon or something else?

good question

I just took mine out last night and I couldn't tell you. Didn't feel light enough to be aluminum, but I cannot tell for sure:dontknow:. Seems like steel would have rusted though. I am interested to see the answer you get.

Just sayin'............

Depends..!

if you are talking about the bolts that hold the oil filter covers on..they are steel. All the bolts and screws used on engine cases are steel. Many are dipped unichromed and some are stainless...

They are soft steel. I had a couple of the bolts where the hex got reamed out due to improper tool or tightened too much. I went to local hardware and got replacements.
