Hi Gene, the governor declared San Diego county a disaster area. Are you guys all right there?

My daughter lives in Pamona, CA and was evacuated yesterday. She was allowed back to her apartment today but she says the smoke is very heavy. Chris

I have relatives in Ventura county. So far they are safe. But very sad to see that much of the hills and the Ojai valley are burned, we rode through those areas when we were visiting there; wonderful twisties and lush green hills.

One friend in San Diego county has been evac'd near the Lilac fire, again great riding area and fruit orchards.ray:

Fortunately we are in no imediate danger and the small flares in our area have been contained. These santa ana wind are the big problem and they are not letting up throught the weekend. As everyone knows rain is not in abundance around these parts. So ray:'s to all those north of us and we have quite a bit of family in the LA area...:yikes: Thanks for the concern and ray:'s . Sad part is when it is all over and we can ryde back in those areas we frequent they will all be burnt to the ground...:banghead::banghead:

Saw a photo yesterday of two, two weelers, parked in a driveway (?) still up on their kickstands but all burnt to a crisp. Sad, so very sad for those folks who have lost everything. We were evac'd in 2012 however the fire stopped about a mile away from us. Still to this day I have trouble finding things that are hid away in boxes we packed up to take with us. Thank God at least we still have your stuff, even if I can' find some of it.

I heard on WSB Radio today that Jerry Brown said that climate change was responsible for the wild fires in California. :banghead:

We are here..:bowdown: but have to run up to LA in the morning and will see how it's going where it is really bad. If roads are clear should be back in the evening if not I'll be home shortly after I leave...

"With climate change, some scientists are saying that Southern California is literally burning up," he said. "So we have to have the resources to combat the fires and we also have to invest in managing the vegetation and forests ... in a place that's getting hotter."​
