• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So why is it called 'Ryker'?

Seems like an odd name. I looked it up and it means, "Ryker, meaning rich". Why didn't they name it so it can be depicted in some way? I mean, a Spyder is depicted by...a spider. You can get spider decals for it and it makes sense.

I have read the following statement: The artificial word fuses the terms "Ryder" - Can-Ams word creation for Spyder-driver - and biker

Maybe the designer is a big star trek fan and the Ryker can be depicted by a Riker? I can't wait for someone to put a Riker decal on their Ryker.

From what I could read ...
The name Ryker is of Danish origins and is used mostly in English speaking countries.
Danish meaning: Strong power

Maybe the reason is the same as why you have your name. It's just what your parents decided to call you. Could be that simple .

That's exactly what I always think when I see the name...
Adding a star trek emblems on the side of the trike will be probably quite fitting :).

I always thought that the Y represents the reverse 3 wheel configuration - each point of the Y is where the wheels are at kind of a thing :).

Spyder has nothing to do with spiders, instead it is another word used for roadsters, and we all kniw a Can-Am Spyder is a roadster andnot a Motorcycle.
