• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So who am I going to see at the BRP event in June?

Trying to decide if the 14 hour days will be too much for the boy so I may or may not be flying solo.
 
I'll be leaving home, on Vancouver Island, on the 24th and will be there in time to tour Jay's Garage with the free pass I'm going to win. LOL
I've been looking forward to this trip ever since last years Homecoming... which I couldn't attend.

I will be there. I am in N California so I will probably take the time to visit all of the missions on the way down there. I can make a ten day trip out of this if I play my cards right.;)

Safety first - 14 hour days are going to be very fatigueing and you won't be nearly as alert as you normally might be - especially with hwy riding which tends to beat the tar out of you more on the spyder. I personally couldn't do more than 8 hours of that. Backroads under 65 I could do longer.

Be careful!

Hey James, I know it will seem like a lot but we will have to stop every 15o miles or so for fuel which will help break it up a bit. Also, sounds like we are gonna most likely have the SpyderLovers Banner and meet up with some folks in Missouri along the way and AtaDude is going to try and catch us in Oklahoma. So there will be time to get off and stretch. I can not remember his name, but, "the boy" is pretty tough. I hope you are able to ride with us.

If there are no issues along the way, we plan on arriving in the Los Angeles area (KOA in Ponoma) on the evening of the 24th. That gives us plenty of time to rest up and be fresh for the 26th & 27th. I think on Sunday, we will be planning to head for home on the 28th.

CJ is excited and wants to come along so we're going to give it a go. Worst case, we can lag behind but I think we'll be fine. I'm installing the scala-rider communicators so that should help.
 
I too would risk a divorce and knowing her she would take the Spyder :yikes: just to spite me. BUT I really really want to go! It would be a big history for me to go East coast to West Coast 2753 miles each way!

I know there is a group leaving from Tampa, Florida to be there and was invited to ride with them as well. Have to iron out the details and I will have to see. Maybe fly just to the event don't know.

Just a word of advice. Forget the gauge and fill up frquently, at least out West. If you get gas, then pass another station 40 miles down the road, it could be 140 to the next one. You end up stranded. Fill up often, and if on the Interstae, display the gas stations on your GPS and peek ahead on your route, so you can plan extra stops if you have a long stretch to cover between stations.

Also... don't trust the billboards for that restaurant/gas station in 40 miles. Some of those outposts in the wastelands are no longer in business. Imagine your surprise when you pull off the road for a greasy cheeseburger and fill up, only to find a boarded up building and an awning with no gas pumps under it! (ASK ME HOW I KNOW!) If waiting for the supposed next gas station will bring you close to dry... don't do it... fill up at 100 miles.
