• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So Now it's MARCH????

Tell them for every week beyond January 31 they will remove $1000 from their bill or their lack of service hits the media because this has gone on long enough. If they aren't capable of fixing it (which is what it sounds like to me), they need to tell you.

Not sure I would slam the dealership too much since it sounds like it is a major rebuild. The repair delays sound more like a BRP problem by not being able to supply the service department parts quickly. There's not much the service department can do without the parts to complete the repair.

I normally wouldn't get upset if the delay was in getting parts; but they told me that they need to get "clips and fasteners"... Those should be stuff that they've either got on hand, or didn't overlook in the first place. :gaah:
And TWO extra weeks to get them??? :gaah::gaah::gaah:

His dealer had parts already along time ago and never even started this project until recently. nojoke

Bob, I completely understand your frustration. What I can't figure out is why it would take 2 weeks to get parts from BRP even if it's low cost clips. You would think the parts could get FedEx'd so the dealer would have them in a day or two. I ordered some replacement grommets for my side panels and it took almost 3 weeks to get them. I was not impressed. BRP make a great product and I love my Spyder but BRP's replacement parts service stinks!

:agree: Parts on back order, Brp's motto.:(

I'll need to get some more "Bald Head" polish to clean up the mess! :gaah:

It wouldn't be so bad if we were having a normal winter.....but this has been great riding weather! Thats what :cus: for sure.

I think it may be time for the MISSUS to make a call to the dealer!! Just tell her to make believe she's talking to you about something you did. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
Hang in there and hope its done right:pray::pray::pray:

clips and fasteners

Bob you should just get a list of what they need and wander yourself over to the nearest ace true value and pick them up for these guys. I am completely almost certain that the parts they make the bikes with are common to the world and not made out of magical particles and sorcery. I hope you get on the road before the snow falls in November.

Now that is a good one.

The "Missus" scares the crap out of Bob, just think what she will do to a hapless dealer! ;)

98% of the parts are exclusive to the Spyder, Hardware stores wouldn't have Spyder parts.
Well maybe one, Duct Tape, and in colors to match.:roflblack:

I'd be concerned about how competent they will be on putting it all back together. I would also get your insurance involved. If this was a car claim they would be none too happy about such a delay.

Specially, if they had been providing a 'rental' until repairs were complete.

I was thinking the same thing... Unfortunatley I have nothing other than their previous good reputation to hold hostage... :gaah:

The dealer sells Spyders, right?

Tell them to cannibalize another Spyder they have sitting on the lot to fix yours, and once they get the parts in from BRP, they can then fix that one.

A good dealer would do that, no?

My dealer took the computer out of one on the floor, to fix the bad one on the 2009 we bought.

Our :spyder2: was only out of service for a couple days. This was in the days when dealers had virtually no parts and had to order everything from BRP.

NEWSFLASH!!!
I just got off the phone with the dealer... My parts have arrived and they are back to work; completion is now looking like next Tuesday or Wednesday... (I HAVE heard that before though... :gaah:)
It seems that he got a call from Carlo... (Thanks!

Anyway; he was VERY apologetic and I was equally gracious. There's never a need to make new enemies when you've already got enough!

I am still trying to build up a good relationship with them so there's been no need to plaster his name out here. I'd like to be able to do business with them because they ARE the closest dealer to us by a signicant amount, and I'd rather deal with local folks anyway.
So we're back to being hopeful here! :2thumbs:
