so the other day i was a little pissed off at the car extras i ordered and the prices i paid for them. than i was getting even madder that they never came in and i didn't have a itemized bill for them. also to add insult to injury, i called the guy who sold me the parts, and he didn't return my call. well late last night he called me.
now i will admit i am spoiled, i have owned well over 40 cars in my life. most of them were bought new. it was the one thing my mom would always say. if you kept a car, you would have tons of money, lol, i miss hearing that now. but having bought so many cars, you figure you know how to get over them, and not let them take advantage of you. so you watch everything they do, study all the things you buy, and look for the best prices.
when i bought a motorcycle, all the options i would order and pay for, the dealers would install them for free. and for the last 12 years i leased a INFINITI, and being a higher end vehicle, and a great dealer, they treated me like a king. so anything extra was installed free also. but i guess with this new GMC dealer and the ACARDIA DENALIE i ordered, it doesn't work that way.
when you order the extras, they have packages. so some of the items i wanted come single from a lesser model, or in a package on the more expensive model like mine. all the items are dealer installed, and it takes almost nothing to do them. the hardest to install are the MUD GUARDS. so when the guy called me last night and gave me the prices i gave him the prices i had from the web site. but he said being i didn't order the car new, he couldn't get the packages, and had to order them separate. also they have to install them so there is a charge for that. when i said, i expected you to do that for free, he said we can't do that. at that point i just agreed and said ok call when they come in. MORAL OF THE STORY, no matter how smart you think you are, a car dealer will beat you.
