So Saturday we drove our bikes up to Fresno, about 35 miles and the location of the dealership. On the way, Bob noticed that one of my back lights was out. So we went into the service shop, yes it was covered under warranty but they only have one guy that works on Spyders. Yes the local police were really cracking down on bikes and there riders...and yes it would probably be a really good idea to fix the blub...but who and how?
Good news, in the parking lot Bob completely took off one side of the body to get to the bad blub. Better news, the tool kit that comes with the Spyder contains all the tools needed to do it (never looked at the tools before, we are very impressed). Best news, the blub looked bad....okay the story takes a turn here.
Blub is an odd one...a 10??, not a 11??, made in Hungry with a set of odd triangluar contact points. And why would the dealership stock blubs? No one has needed one yet, so why keep any in stock? Oh yeah, we could have tried another blub but the service dept. said it would void the warranty. So Bob used the tool set to put the old blub back and reassemble the Spyder. What fun!
So we opened up an RO; the dealership will order a blub. And while he had it apart, Bob noticed that something is going on with the brakes; brake fluid has spilled on the frame and the paint is blistering up.:dontknow::hun:
The important thing is that the little tool kit is worth having...check it out if you have not looked at it yet.
