There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. So how many people does it take to change a light blub?

So Saturday we drove our bikes up to Fresno, about 35 miles and the location of the dealership. On the way, Bob noticed that one of my back lights was out. So we went into the service shop, yes it was covered under warranty but they only have one guy that works on Spyders. Yes the local police were really cracking down on bikes and there riders...and yes it would probably be a really good idea to fix the blub...but who and how?
Good news, in the parking lot Bob completely took off one side of the body to get to the bad blub. Better news, the tool kit that comes with the Spyder contains all the tools needed to do it (never looked at the tools before, we are very impressed). Best news, the blub looked bad....okay the story takes a turn here.
Blub is an odd one...a 10??, not a 11??, made in Hungry with a set of odd triangluar contact points. And why would the dealership stock blubs? No one has needed one yet, so why keep any in stock? Oh yeah, we could have tried another blub but the service dept. said it would void the warranty. So Bob used the tool set to put the old blub back and reassemble the Spyder. What fun!:(
So we opened up an RO; the dealership will order a blub. And while he had it apart, Bob noticed that something is going on with the brakes; brake fluid has spilled on the frame and the paint is blistering up.:dontknow::hun:

The important thing is that the little tool kit is worth having...check it out if you have not looked at it yet.

You two have all the fun Carol, I just work. Maybe wed or thursday we could ride to the mountain house. My treat.

My BRP toolkit has came in handy quite a few times also. Before I bought a torx bit set for my toolbox, I used the BRP supplied torx screwdriver to remove all the torx screws that BRP uses.

I am curious about what's going on with your brakes. I had an incident a few weeks back where I was getting some brake faults and had a soft brake pedal. When I checked, the brake fluid was a little low. I didn't look much further for a leak as I figured I would top off the fluid and then see if the problem came back. It never did so I am assuming the fluid level is still good but now I'm curious. I'll go check my level again once it gets a bit warmer and the sun comes up. :coffee: If its low, I guess I'll be looking for a leak.

1157 auto bulb works fine in tail lights. Had to replace mine at 400 miles and now at 2,400 miles, it still works fine. Must be you do not have the sport rack/backrest, since replacing the tail light with that accessory on is a real hassle since the sport rack blocks removal of the inside lens Torx screw. I can't believe that they would suggest that the warranty would be voided by using another bulb.

Yeah, You might want to point out to them that unless the non-conforming item actually causes a failure, which would mean only that specific failure would not be covered, voiding the warranty for replacing parts is against Federal law. Some dealers just don't seem to get it!

When installing my passenger backrest a few months back after I was done my right bulb was out went to autoparts store and 1157 has been working fine ever since my area dealer at the time did not have bullbs also :doorag:

Got a call from the dealership.....the regular rep and warranty mechanic agrees that the 1157 blub should have been used until the correct one comes in. We have the passenger back plate w/rest on it, making the parking lot blub change more difficult.
They are also concerned that my master brake cylinder is leaking. Unfortunately it will take little while to get an answer from BRP as to how extensive the fix is. Dealership thinks that they will have to completely replace the frame due to the brake fluid ruining the paint. Dealership said they will need at least 2-3 weeks to change over the frame. What will I do without my Spyder?

Curious

Do you mind me asking how long have you had your Spyder? I just got mine 3 days ago and I would be upset if I had to lose mine for 3 weeks.

Okay csmead, I can't contain myself any longer. I have not idea how man people it takes to change a light "BLUB" because I don't know what a "BLUB" is. LOL so sorry, I couldn't resist. bjt pointed it out to me and everything else in your post is spelled correctly but bulb is blub every time. Please don't be mad, this is all in fun. :2thumbs::2thumbs::yes:

Thank you so much for the definition. My blub will just have to stay as it is cause I don't think there are enough people out there that can change it. hehehe. So if I come across as a blubbering idiot, don't try to change me. LOL
