• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So how do you get the top off of the air box?

You fortunate sons that have your manual, could you look that up for me. I can get it about half way out and then it hits the stacks inside the box. I know there has to be a simple way to do this right? :dontknow:

By the way that gas smell is all the unburnt fuel in the box. There was a lot of pooled up areas in there. I was trying to get a little more room to get the cable on for the cruise control. I gave up on that idea. :(

I have the owners manual linked on this site, I need the shop manual.

I need the shop manual also.........

but what i really want is ........lil john's big wheel.

Help a brother out....how much ya want?

I have the shop manual and it states, remove the IACV hose from the cover, undo the clips and carefully remove the cover from the right side of the spyder. I didn't remove mine yet but it sounds like a piece of cake.

You say you have the SHOP MANUAL?????

Got mine now too. That is what the shop manual says but I talked with Brian (the guy who did the first Cruise Control) and he said it took him 1.5 hours to get his off and he had to slide it to the left side of the bike. :dontknow:

Looks like BRP doesn't want anyone taking a swim in the pools of unburnt fuel they might find in the airbox !! ;D

I think it's a mix of oil and fuel but they sure didn't make it easy to get that cover off. :edit:

Puddles of fuel? Maybe a puddle of oil...

I read on another web site that if the oil is filled to full, it can result in oil being sucked into the air box... Something to do with non or ill functioning oil splash guards(?) in the oil resvoir(?)...

Just sayin

LMAO!!!!
I wish i still had it too!!!!
If I get a Spyder (which is looking more and more like a done deal) Im thinkin I need to get another one of these and convet it to a reverse trike...LMAO!!!

I was hoping Ken would have jumped in on this ::) but I got it figured out and I have a pretty good trick that helps a bunch for the next guy that attemps this.

This is what one ride in the sand and salt did to it. This Spyder has less than 500 miles on it.

Little bit of oil buildup

could two universal air filters be used instead of the airbox? Do you have the diameter of the male on the intake?

Glad you got it. We fought ours during the cruise install (to the point of thinking about a saw:banghead:). Next time W said, "hay - look at this!" and turned and tilted it just right and it came right out. Reverse was just as smooth. Took it out one more time as a repeat. sorta wondering if we sheared something off :D
