• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So far, so good

Just got back from the 6,000 mile service/DPS update. 60 mile ride home and I kept waiting for any sign of surges, pops, hesitation, etc. Mostly freeway, but also had several miles of city streets. Ran just as good after as it did before. For those who have had problems, was it immediate or did it show up over time? I have stock pipe, no JB or purge valve mods. Regarding the steering fix itself, I paid really close attention to steering input and response on the trip over and five hours later tried to "feel" any difference. Maybe just in my head, but steering seemed more precise and less twitchy.

It took me a while to "admit" that the steering had improved and become less twitchy. I was convinced that it was just my inexperience with the Spyder -- but it did change.

I have had ABSOLUTELY no issues before or after the update.

Well . . . . .

. . . . . if your Spyder didn't explode in a ball of flame as you pulled in your driveway, . . . . . . maybe later tonight, keep those marshmallows handy.

It is easy to be anxious about the update with all the talk about it. I didn't notice much on my way back from having the update done - generally "better". But the differences seemed small - almost imaginary.

During the next week as I traveled and rode to the usual places, I did start noticing changes. All little things, but I would have gladly paid for that bundle of little changes. The Spyder was good before the Update, better after it.

Knowing what I know now, I would have rode the Spyder more like I did during the break-in period - just to be cautious - instead of taking a 200 mile ride into the middle of nowhere. But all turned out well.

Just keep an eye on it, rest easy, put the marshmallows away.
