• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smoothspyder -- great service and great response from [email protected]

Hello fellow Spyderlovers,

I just wanted to let you know that I did order the Smoothspyder belt tensioner, but screwed up and ordered it directly from their website (even though Jim at Smoothspyder is running a special price for us and also lower on eBay).

It was my issue, but I sent Jim an email and he quickly responded and honored the sale price. He sent me the refund this morning.

THIS IS A GREAT VENDOR! His company was quick on delivery, no issues at all, packed the unit very well, and VERY responsive to my emails -- that's what you want from a supplier!
To me, he took a personal interest in my concern and even looked my posts up on our forum.

Anyway.....passing this on so you all don't make the mistake I made and get the sale price right away if you're thinking about purchasing this item.

Happy and safe rydin' to all :spyder2:

...but have to say...incredible fast shipping!

Now to find the time for install. :)

Smoothspyder belt tensioner installed on my 2014 RT Limited last week - easy install!

Here's a few pics of the install - much easier to install on the 2014 RT than my 2012 RT!:clap:

Good luck to all of you with your farkles!

FYI the one I installed is the new model that is not out yet. This version does not require you to drill holes in the frame. I am testing it now.

Yes, you are correct! No drilling on the 2014 RT L that I installed the Smoothspyder tensioner on....an existing hole is used! Nice! :2thumbs: :clap::clap:

Had to drill to install on my 2012 RT - much harder install!

Received mine this morning. The '13 RT must be the same as the '14 as there is one bolt on the bracket that uses an existing hole. I plan to put it on tomorrow.

Well I have a 2011 RTS.......

Can I just say HOLY SHEET!

This is the best thing I have put on my Spyder since the Baja Ron sway bar!

Check out this thing in action!

Again, I have a full video series I will be publishing soon.

And just to let the CAT out of the bag until I make a full post myself....

This is the new model Smooth Spyder for the 2010-2013 that does not require drilling holes.

Jim has NOT released this model yet as it is in test. He has had about 50 out there in testing but has not gotten a lot of feedback so he was waiting to launch this.

CAN I JUST SAY... For me it works perfectly!

How the hell did you get the camera down there??? I loveeeee it...:clap: Nicely done.... Always love your videos....

Reading over the directions last night, my 2013 STS requires no drilling also.

Jim must have made BRP place holes in a correct place.

Great videos too

Looks like the RTs mount to the back...and the STs mount toward the front.

Guess I'll have to make a ST install video. :)

Do you lessen tension when u install these? if you are not getting any vibrations does that mean the belt is over tightend ? I wondered why y'all were putting this on,if your belts were worn or what?:doorag:
