• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smooth Spyder F3 backrest

I would just like to see if someone has the smooth spyder F3 Backrest on their F3T. The website says that it will work on both the F3 and F3T, but I just would like to see a picture and get some first hand knowledge of how you like it, and how it looks.

Thanks,

Keith Cash

Keith,

I obviously don't have an F-3; however I have owned and loved my smooth spyder back rest. Hated to have to sell it but wouldn't work with my RDL seat because of the wings on the seat. I do miss having it. Buy it, you'll like it and wonder how you ever did without one.

Thanks for the info. I got one on the way from Godlover. Funny thing is, the backrest will possibly be here before the bike arrives. Hopefully they will be here at the same time.

Well, I installed my smooth spyder backrest that I got from Godlover (thanks again), and had a chance to test it out on a charity ride for Pediatric brain tumors. Over 317 bikes, raising over $100,000, and I was the only F3 based bike in the bunch.
One question about the backrest, Will it work with the rear luggage rack? I ask, because it seems that with having to use the longer screws, it would place the head even further out. This might contact the closed lid on the F3T style bikes. Without the saddle bags, this would not be a problem, but with them, I think they would stick out too far.

Ah if only this was detacheable. It would be the perfect backrest and i would own one lol. I love how it can be two different things. Genius.

I agree, it would be nice if it was quick release. But 95% of the time, I keep it in the forward position for a drivers backrest. It is nice having it readily available for those rare times that I can get the wife to ride.
