There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smoked chrome spray paint?

Caught one of my front wheels rims against the kerb. Not a lot of damage but it doesn't take much to spoil the look of the Spyder. Anyone know of an aerosol paint supplier who has that "smoked chrome" look in a spray can?

Here's what I do..!!

go to the auto parts store and match it up. You can also search paints here there are suppliers for the orignal paint. Don't know the sizes depends on if you plan on doing this often...:roflblack::roflblack: Be sure to get the clear coat as well...

Thanks, guys. I've found paint specialists here in the UK who can exactly match the paint color for my wheels but they need BRP's International Identification Code for the paint which guarantees a color match every time but I don't have it. BRP must have used great quantities of their "smoked chrome" wheel paint. It's a great color which is why I don't want to change it. :(

Can you ask your dealer if he has this for your year? May it has what you need...

Thanks, Snoopy. My RT SE5's year is 2011 and the body color is Orbital Blue. I'm sure the list of 2013 body colors and their codes is what a paint manufacturer would use to achieve a color match. It is unfortunate that BRP do not appear to mention their wheel paint code separately. The only reference I have to "smoked chrome" front wheels is in a 2011 BRP advanced-publicity brochure which I've had since I buying my Spyder in 2011.

I've been given the details of a company about 40 miles from home whose specialty is renovating Morgan sports cars from the chassis up. They are said to have a very high tech paint mixing and matching rig so I'll be contacting them soon to see if they can help. :f_spider:

Sorry to seem like you're the guinea pig on this one, but hopefully what you find out may help someone in the future.
