• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

smell of hot gas

The updated vent hose applied to only the early GS Spyders. The later RS and all the RTs had the longer hoses.

ANyone ever find a fix

Has anyone in this thread ever found a fix for their Spyders and the horrable fuel smell? I just got a 2012 Limited and its doing the same thing as my 2011 with the fuel smell and dripping gas from the evap hose. WTF.

No

Without any explanation, BRP has not come up with a solutioon and plenty of us are having the fumes, drips, etc. Most have done the Canisterectomy. I'm trying one more purge valve and then that's it. The C'rectomy doesn't solve the problem, just lets the gas run out without stopping in the canister and screwing the system up, but apparently that's the best solution. BRP says "don't fill it up all the way". Great solution, huh? See the notes on this in all forums. Better yet type in Canisterectomy or gas fumes in the search block in the top red row of the Forums page. The problem is all over and many are just living with it. That's BS. My bike went 8,000 miles and never dripped a drop and now it stinks like an old gas can, actually worse with the vegetables we're burning in the gas. I moved the vent line fron the front, directly in front of the CAT and exhaust pipes, to the swing arm rear. Now the rear tire looks like hell, but that's the way it goes, at least it's not a fire hazard, I hope. It still drips and stinks, guaranteed. :banghead:
