• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smart Phone mount

I would like to mount my smart (not really all that smart) phone on my counsel or handlebars. What is recommended for a F3?

I got a U-bolt Ram Mount that was good for a 1 1/4" dia bar. I think the part number was RAM-B-231-1U

I MOUNTED MY RAM OFF THE HANDLE-BAR, BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT THE PHONE GOING BACK-N-FORTH WHILE TURNING.....

That's a great idea! I was just about to order the X-grip, too. Which socket arm length is that? The short, regular or long? Looks like it may be the long but I can't tell for sure.

Thanks!

Forget those mounts - look at the way he has his Chapstick placed. That is too cool. I'm low tech - its in my pocket and I have to pull over to use it. :roflblack:

BTW - I LOVE all of the items that you have above the dash and behind your windshield, that must have taken some time to place those there. I just added airhorns, lights and an accessory plug to my Spyder - and that was about all the fun that I could have in a couple of days.

Great pics - thanks for some ideas that my wife will hate, since I have to spend more money on the toy.:D

Where and how did you mount an air horn? I have one on my Sportster, but I have always wanted one on my spyder.

If you go with a Stebel Compact Nautilus or a BadBoy type horn there's plenty of room where the OEM horn is.

I have the Stebel on my F3. LOUD enough!

Installation

How difficult is installation, in regards to wiring etc? How long did the install take?

I installed a Bad Boy on an '08 GS - took about an hour because I did not mount it where the OEM horn was. I used the OEM wiring, and first time that I HAD to use the horn, I blew the fuse. The problem is the fuse also controls some engine functions and I had a "Check Engine" light come in - engine did not quit, but sounded different. Pulled over and found the blown fuse, replaced it (look inside the fuse cover for extras) and did not use the horn again. I will put a relay in between power and horn and not use the horn switch for direct power to the Bad Boy.

If you good at wrenching - you should get it done within an hour. It helps to know where to look first.

Good luck!
