There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Small lens below fog lights?

romaine

New member
Have looked in the customer manual with no luck. What are the small lens (about 1" dia.) below the fog lights on a 2015 RT Limited? They never seem to light up with any combination of headlights, fog lights or turn signals.

Over the years: folks have tried to find ways to stick a set of LED accent lights in them. (Like the ones next to the headlights)
Nobody has been successful.

Lights that don't work

They are only used on the European models where they are required

Thanks for the info I just purchased a 2016 rt ltd and they don't work.

BRP if you are listening you should in your operation manual state that the lights are for other markets.

Sadly...

all show and no go...You could add the parts used on the foriegn models. you can order them from cheapcycleparts.com...then show us..

:D Perhaps one of our members from the UK could help us figure out a "pipeline for the parts"...

So far as the UK is concerned those are NOT 'special' light fittings, neither do I think they are there to fulfil some kind of peculiar lighting requirement existing in any other European country. Sorry to be negative but I believe Europe has lighting regulations which are as standardised as those throughout the USA.

I agree with Geoff above, and I've chased lights for these 'spots' thru every source/jurisdiction I can, & as far as it is possible to see at this stage, those little 'spots' in front of/under the fogs are NOT used in the European (or Aus) market anywhere & it appears there is NOT anything available as an 'off the shelf' fitting to go in there from BRP for those or ANY markets!!

The accent lights to go in the spot up alongside the headlights ARE available tho, but they aren't a ready fit in the Fog light spaces, & if you want to use an aftermarket light there instead, you are still left with the difficulty of drilling out the hole as well as avoiding getting crap into the far end of the fog light fitting even before you start trying to fit lights into the pointy space remaining.... :p

I've been looking, but so far I haven't found anyone here or in the UK that has fitted lights in there..... not yet, anyway!

Those things are not lenses.
They are moulded into the fixture and are covered with whatever it is to make plastic look like chrome.
They are not pop outs.
There is no apparent way to mount any type of fixture there.

It makes me crazy when manufacturers do this stuff. My farkle-sense says something MUST go there.
Kind of like that blank spot in the center of the switch panel between the handlebar heat control and the ride adjustment control.:wrong:

 :agree: We need BRP to do something about this wasted space!! :gaah:
(:joke:)

I for one will be demanding a refund from BRP on my 2010RT because I bought it solely for the small lights that they tricked me into believing were there.

A Refund???

Roger, you best be careful. Word is out that Jean Luc is gunning for you when you arrive in Valcourt next summer. :yikes:

that blank spot in the center of the switch panel between the handlebar heat control and the ride adjustment control would be a great place to mount a USB connector, if ya could find one that fits.

JT a sponsor has one. I installed it. Not very difficult. Check his store. Even comes with a wiring harness!
