• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The wife and I went for icecream last night and when we left the icecream shop went about 1/4 mile, stopped at traffic light and :spyder:shifted from first to second and would not shift to a higher gear:gaah: Shifted back to first and then would not shift to second. Drove half way home in first then couldn't stand it so stopped and jiggled the shift lever with these kind words(#*@%$#.) Managed to get it into second and drove the rest of the way home. Started :spyder:in garage this morning and it would not shift to first but did shift to third where it remains as it will not shift up or down now. ANY THOUGHTS other than it's broke?:dontknow:

I have an 09 SE5 and began having shifting problems with it at around 1500 miles. :(Then one day it stuck in 1st gear, then wouldn't shift down from 2nd to first at a stop light. Ended up pulling over both times, turning everything off and waiting...waiting :gaah:...and then finally the computer reset I guess and then it worked again. Took it to dealer when got back (were on a 3 day trip) and they had to add another ground wire because they said radio frequencies were interferring with the computerized shifting that the SE use. Since then I've had no shifting problems. :thumbup:I hadn't heard of any of the manual transmissions having shifting problems. I would take it to the dealer and let them check it out. Because the Spyder seems to be one big computer on wheels, it is possible the same fix with the additional ground wire is needed both the SE5 and SM5 models.

You have a SM5 or SE5?...sounds like you have the semi-auto vs. the manual..

oooooh... have heard about this problem (for SM) only one time before but it does not look like a consumer friendly check. This is the shifting mechanism...
