• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SM5 clutch issue

Questions

New member
Not sure if anyone else had experienced the same problem I have but recently I noticed that when the engine on my 2011 RT SM5 has not reached its normal running temperature the clutch does not operate properly eventhough the engine had run a few minutes. I depress the clutch lever to enguage 1st gear and practically stall the engine everytime. When this occurs I noticed that I have very little clutch throw however, after the engine has reached its normal running temperature then the clutch works normal. Any feedback would be great. I will contact my Can Am to get some answers as well.

I'd start by bleeding the clutch. If you have insufficient clutch throw, the clutch can grab when cold but be fine when hot.

I agree with bleeding first, my Venture did a similar thing awhile back, the synthetic fluid attracts moisture too and should be bled to change the fluid I feel once a year.

If it's a 2011 you need to take it to your dealer and have him check it out. I wouldn't start bleeding the clutch unless you just like doing stuff like that. :doorag:
