• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Slingshot....ummmm....fun?

Well..!!

This ones been around but does put the question mark on fun...:lecturef_smilie: and without a helmet..!! painful...:yikes:

For what it's worth, when that vid was originally released they did make it clear that the whole thing was done on a test track under controlled conditions where they were trying to see what happened when all the stability control gear was turned off - so they were actually trying (pretty hard apparently) to make it do that!! It's not something those vehicles are ever likely to do unless someone's gone to fairly significant effort to make it even capable of doing it!! :sour:

So OK, they aren't actually all that likely to roll like that 'in real life'.... but for the life of me I still can't see what the attraction in them is??

You will see what the attraction is the 1st time you drive or ride one!

Also heard this was a controlled condition and that the "nanny" stuff had been disconnected.

I have said it a couple times at least--I like the Slingshots. They are a different kind of toy and not everyone is going to like them.

Have no plans on dumping my :spyder2: for one. Can't afford to have both flavors in my garage either.

Two :ani29:'s are enough toys for the present--unless I get a big inheritance or win the lottery. :roflblack::roflblack:

I had more fun in the first 500 miles driving my Slingshot than I ever had in all the miles driving 3 different Spyders from 2008 to 2014. You have to try it to experience it for yourself. It truly is like "surfing the asphalt".

That being said, I do miss my Spyder and wish I could have afforded to keep both.
