Slingmods Adjustable Backrest - who has one and what do you think?

Looking at the SLingmods/Show Chrome adj backrest for my 2024 RTL - who has it and what do you think? :clap:

The best backrest is made by "UTOPIA" - it is larger and thinner than Slingmods... Mike :thumbup:

I have the showchrome backrest. Things I like about it it is the forward/backward adjustments and the tilt up and down. The tilting up and down continually adjusts to my riding position. The primary thing I don't like is it is not very wide. It will support my center back sweet spot but on a long ride, I can feel the edges start to press into my sides that had extended beyond the width.

I did not know about the Utopia backrest. I looked at their website and I may try it before my next multi-day trip.

I did not know I needed a back rest till I broke down and got one after reading reports on here one of the best things I installed found out in about a 10 min ride next day took a long trip what a different. I got a utopia easy to install and fit me great also it does not bother her she like the pocket

my BRP backrest folds forward for easier passenger access... important after her hip replacement.

Had a Utopia on my RSV. It was fantastic. The BRP backrest came with my Spyder. It isn't bad, but I wish it was a Utopia.

I think I'm going to wait till I send off my seat to Russell and get their backrest. Best saddle made, have one on my BMW 1600.

I also have the Utopia backrest. I changed their bolt to a removable marine pin so that I can add or take off the backrest as I see fit. When my lady is in the back, sometimes I want to be able to have her hug me as we cruise!

I have the backrest from LaMonster and really like it. Simple install, easy to remove if needed.

I have Show Chrome on a 2014 RTS, had a BRP on a 2016 F3L, and a Utopia on a 2020 RTL.

The Utopia is my favorite of them all... it is so comfortable for me and makes my ride near perfect.

I installed one on my 2022, and ended up selling the backrest and buying the BRP version. I like it much better.

I have two Show Chrome Grande seatback rests I purchased through SlingMods. I’m 6’4’ and had to actually adjust the backrest slightly forward for my best comfort. My wife is 5’5” and sits so far forward her back did not touch the backrest even if fully adjusted to its furthest position. I modified it and gave it another 1/2” and now it fits her perfectly. We both enjoy its large size and the ability to flip it down for easier entry is very helpful. No matter your height you should be able to get a more comfortable ride with these backrests.

My wife loves the one from Slingmods, I switched from the SM to the Utopia and really like it. I did file the slot on the SM for Julie so it would a bit lower on her back. If possible try a couple brands.
