• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sling shot

 I'm not sure if anybody has suggested that it should be outlawed...

They're just reluctant to call it a motorcycle. :D
According to NYS DMV rules and regulations; it is... That's more than good enough for me! :2thumbs:

Hi Bob,

Re:

Many, many years ago, when I was in high school, I learned the hard way that reading and comprehension are two different things.

See Post #2: " . . .
they need to classify three wheeled cars and three wheeled motorcycles differently. Texas has the right idea and they should include the T-rex, Elio (if ever produced) as well . . . "

Hi Jerry, I know that I'm about as far from being the brightest light on the Christmas Tree as possible... but I was actually thinking about your statement here...

IMO anyone who thinks that they could not legislate the Spyder off of the roads has their head in the proverbial sand.
BRP has said that they have produced ~ 52,000 Spyders; that is peanuts as far as numbers go.
Politicians listen to voters.
How about if I edit my post to say, "Could be outlawed"? :D

JerryB,

Just because I may not agree with you or your assessment of a particular situation, does not mean that I don't comprehend what you are saying (or I am reading). And, what I just said has nothing to do with a slingshot. It's just a general statement to go along with what you learned in high school.

I do, however, agree with your original statement regarding reading and comprehension.

Hi Bob,

Re: How about if I edit my post to say, "Could be outlawed"?

Absolutely not necessary. I bet if we were to meet up it would a quick-draw contest to see who could be first to say, "I'm buying; what'll you have?"

I just do not want people trying to do 'anything' to get the Slingshot off of the road.

As mentioned above, I've been in the trenches fighting anti-skydiving legislation.

Hi Bob,

Re: three wheeled motorcycles

A little anecdote for you. About 1 1/2 yrs ago I was coming out of the local shopping center and saw this simply great looking 3-wheel Harley-Davidson. Just at that time the owner walked up & I said, 'Great looking 3-wheeler.'

He said, 'It's not a 3-wheeler, it's a 4-wheeler.'

He had gotten along in years ( probably younger than me if truth be known ), had been riding his 2-wheeler H-D and did not want to give it up.

So he got to work in his shop and added a couple bolt-on axles with an extra wheel on each side. The center tire was still the only drive wheel, the other two were just coasting & to prevent fall-overs.
He still had her licensed as a motorcyle; 3-wheel limit here in Oregon.
