• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2019 Entrance Fee Free Days

April 20: First Day of National Park Week/National Junior Ranger Day
June 15: Park Neighbor Day (Shenandoah National Park only)
August 25: National Park Service Anniversary
September 28: National Public Lands Day
November 11: Veterans Day Weekend

The park’s four entrances/exits are:

Front Royal, accessible via I-66 and Route 340

Thornton Gap, accessible via Route 211

Swift Run Gap, accessible via Route 33

Rockfish Gap, accessible via I-64 and Route 250

(Rockfish Gap is also the northern entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway.)
 
If you have a Senior Pass all the days are free, at every National Park. You just have to survive 62 years of your slide down the razor blade of life to get one.
