• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have noticed over recent days that this site has slowed down with loading.
Its changed.

I have checked my modem, rebooted it and done a speed test with data in and out.
All good and normal.

So I figure its not my end.

Just FYI.

It's the server farms it goes thru before it gets to you. That changes each time you connect. But to/from kiwiland, I'm betting it wouldn't take much of a side trip to give you what you see.

Himm. Didn't think of that.

I logged into Canada via a vpn and it back to being fast again.

Edit.

Logged into Vancouver auto.

This works well for this site.

Speed test is
Similar to Auto NZ
but the upload to Vancouver is 25% of the Kiwi one.

Must miss out some middlemen with the downloads.

Warning , Computer Luddite ( but learning real fast) at large and online.

Yes, I have noticed it too over the last few days, Iso. It happens from time to time.

I guess we are at the end of the line down here. You blokes and all the others get first dibs.

Big difference with the VPN change. :dontknow: why. But it works for me.

It most likely has to do with your ISP and how they handle your traffic... Some use a nefarious method called "traffic shaping" which is a fancy term for selective downloading depending on quantity, type etc. With a VPN all they see is an encrypted stream and cannot apply algorithms to it.

Y'all may as well be talking is some alien language as far as I can understand! All I know is I turn my computer on, log in, and there you are!!! Likity splitily.....
