• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sirius XM Radio

We have Sirius XM on our car and have been getting offers for a portable XM radio with a car kit. Is there anyway of hooking the XM radio up through the system on the RT. I have a 2011 RT-S.

I have XM on my Goldwing and after a couple of years I canceled it and put in a BikeMP3 player. The first thing I did when I got my Spyder was to add a ipod touch and the ipod mount.

Do you have the GPS mounted? I've got the Garmin 665 and just connected up the GXM 40 XM radio receiver head in the trunk. Works great! The XM is controlled though the graphics interface on the GPS right in front of the rider. Some other solutions leave you listening to one station until you get off the "open air riding machine", i.e. Spyder, open the trunk, and change channels.

If you have the Garmin 660, you can probably sell it on the forum and upgrade to the 665. The mount is the same but you might have to run the harness that comes with the 665. It's not difficult.

I have one mounted in the trunk with the antenna stuck at the top of the passenger back rest. It works great but for some reason when I unplug the power plug it blows the F9 fuse - still trying to find out what is happening there. I just turn the unit off and all is well. I use the BRP single jack cable which gives me volume control only.

Thanks

Thank you all for your input. I think I will look at the Garmin 665 and kill two birds with one stone. Again thanks for the help and direction.:)

That's what we ended up doing...just ran a wire from audio out on the 665 harness back to the MP3 input cable in the trunk...works great!
I'll take a picture of where I mounted the antenna, too...tried it in two or three different spots, and always had a 'dead' spot when facing a certain direction, or when we were riding 2-up. Finally mounted it on the front deflector right under the windshield. If I remember correctly, I got that tip from Dave & Teddy! :D Works great!

I'd like to see the picture, too, in case I run into reception issues.
