• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anything new always comes with collateral damage not anticipated. To never try anything new so as to avoid these little bumps in the road would bring us back to the dark ages.

Growing pains is the way I look at it. Annoying. But in the end, beneficial. Keeps the MODS on their toes too!

Believe me the mods’ toes feel well kept on at the moment!

Anthony, please leave it as is, this is better than watching politics...

Actually, it makes no difference to me, but it is comical seeing folks get so worked up about essentially nothing.

Not sure what the flap is over.
I'm having a little difficulty with the new map program myself.
I try to find my location, and I wind up putting two or three markers, so I can't save the one I want.
But to leave the site over this ??
That response seems, at best, disproportionate.

I think you have read too much into Mike’s post, ThreeWheels. He didn’t say he was leaving the site, just taking a break while the super enthusiasm for the new map program dies down. His response is definitely not disproportionate, ;)

 ...I love it when someone ….Gets It :clap:..….. I probably could have worded the Thread Heading better …. but that's not something I can change now .…. Mike :ohyea:

When I look at the 'FORUM" column of the right, it definitely leaves a sour note with me - all those map posts. As someone new, I came here to learn about Spyders, where you live is of little interest to me. Can we please back off of this?

Please bear with us. For NOW, just put your cursor pointer over the persons name at the top of the new post or on the forum as mentioned above. Either will indicate it is the "map" function going on.

If you don't want to read another...just pass on the post for now. Sometimes...these things take a bit of figuring out.

Tempted to post the statement from Kung Fu...but I will spare you that one. :roflblack:

Frankly I don't find this to be a big deal. I noticed if the Title of the post is the same as the name of the poster, it's one of those Find It On The Map posts so I just skip over it. I don't read every single post on this forum, only the ones with the titles that peak my interest. These don't, so like phone calls from numbers not in my contacts list, I ignore them. And it's not as if there's hundreds of them being posted daily. So to me, no biggie.

Bingo
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Exactly, no big deal, but fun to watch folks get so wrapped around the axle over it.

Something intrapreneurs and site developers sometimes don't understand, is that once a customer leaves and searches for other resources because of dissatisfaction, it is near impossible to ever get them back.
