Greetings all,
I had some LED signal blind spot mirrors laying around that had been installed on previous 4 wheeled vehicles. My current 4 wheeled vehicle has them already so I decided to install them on the Spyder instead.
Here are the steps I took to accomplish the task:
1) If you turn your mirrors all the way to the inside you can see behind the outer edge of them.
2) This is where I drilled a 3/16" hole to route the wiring.
3) I used a flat blade screwdriver to CAREFULLY remove the colored trip covers and the lower black covers off the mirrors. I actually managed to do this on both mirrors and only broke one retention tab.
4) From there I routed the wiring through the same hole as the existing wiring harness and simply t-tapped the new wires onto the stock wires. This way you can still remove the mirror by disconnecting one harness. On the right hand mirror the pink wire is the negative, on the left, it is the black one. (If I had started with the left mirror I would have gotten one right on the first try, as it turns out I had to re-do both of them...figures). :banghead:
