• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Side air deflectors

I am talking about the ones below the mirrors and from the feedback I am going to take them off. I also ordered the Barker air wings the feedback on those has also been great

Thanks for all the input

Had some mods done today at Cowtown and Len took mine off before I headed out. He decided I needed more air in our 100+ here is MO. Did make a difference going home.

Just took them off of mine, any extra air will be welcomed in these +100 degree days we're having here(now 5 in a row). Man, it's HOT out here!!

The best remedy for the 100 degree days: #1 take the air deflectors off. #2 leave the Spyder in the garage and go inside and drink something cold. That should do it.

The baker air wings are the best thing for eather one RT or the RS, They keep the wind off your knees and lages our you can open them an get a lot more air. Here in fl they are the best. Oh the help when it rains to. If you do take the upper wings off make sure you put the screws back in as it 's be said before. And for any one that has an RS, These thing make a big deferent on the air flow for the driver.

I took them off last night and they did make a difference, I cant wait to get the air wings. With both things it sounds like it will make a big difference, Thanks for the advise what a great site

If you guys that are removing them would do the rest of us a favor and keep an eye on your gas mileage please???
I'm curious to find out if not having them cuts down on the wind resistance enough to make a difference in fuel usage.

Kinda wondering the same thing about windshield position. I always run mine in the lowest position, but was curious how much more drag is created with it all the way up, thus a potential drop in mileage.
I'll keep an eye on things, need gas anyway!

Mine are off, but there is no way I can calculate gas mileage. Be cause when the wife is with me I get the best mileage and when I'm alone the mileage is not as good. Might have something to do with my sore ribs.:banghead:

Removed my guards today as well and just went for a ride in 96 degrees. It def. provides more air to the driver albeit still hotter than :cus:. I also have the baker air wings and I really don't feel the upper air working for me. I've tried them in all different positions :dontknow:

The deflectors may not make much difference in mileage but I feel sure the windshield is better off in the lowest position. There is a lot of frontal area on the RT anyway. I have a 2010 rt and I cut the windshield down almost 4 inches I am 5'7" like to see over the shield. the 10's have a larger shield on them than the 11 or 12's. I can still raise it if the weather demands.IMG-20120510-00298.jpgDSC00073.jpg Hard to see in the pics but it is a lot shorter now. Being shorter I get more air on these hot days around my head and shoulders.
