• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should the 2015 Spyder have a bigger engine?

The 4 months survey finds 8 of 10 respondents agreeing with the statement that the Spyder should have a bigger engine. Only 20 percent believe that the the 998 V Twin Rotax has plenty of power.

I gave my .02 earlier--but its neat to see that the bigger engine opinions have flip-flopped.

I've owned three 1800cc bikes and they were all torque monsters that would rip your arms out of socket. That's what I would really like to see on the Spyder, something that puts a grin on your face when you crack the throttle. That's one of the main reasons I'm keeping my 109. Do I think I'll see that in a Spyder any time soon? Not likely but we can hope. :doorag:

on the button

looks like BRP got it on the button with new ST which i didnt see coming at all
if they stick with same recipe for success, i can see something at around 1300cc to be able to encourage 80% of existing Spyder ryders for an upgrade plus attract younger riders. i bought mine RS brand new in 2009 and only reason i would upgrade is the engine ( power, crank, top end speed ) so up until then i have no reason to make a purchase - no point to buy same thing (more less)

Does it lack..

I ask, who has found that the spyder lacks power? If one stays within the recommended load limits there seems to be sufficient power. You can still beef up this engine if needed. If you just want to know you have the biggest badest one buy a "2" and a bunch of "0"'s and replace the stickers..:roflblack:

Marketing 101:
There's two things that'll sell a product: sex, and the perception of speed...
No doubt; they're already sexy enough...
