• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SHOULD SPYDER OWNERS BE OFFENDED

Just wondering if someone comes up to you when you are on your bike and says "that's hot" or "it's beautiful"
should we be offended that they are judging our bike only by its looks not the quality of the build?

Some otherwise "sane" people. will take offense at any interaction , with anyone.
Including harmless praise for the Spyder.

I like to tell the story of this young couple catching me leaving a store. The man asked "is that thing fun?"
I smiled, shook my head and said "uh uh." We all laughed pretty hard at that.

Please don't be offended because our difference makes people unsure what to say. Haven't really met a "hater" yet.

I second this... truthfully, when I first read your post part of me thought you had to be joking. Why would anyone take offense to getting complimented on their ride? However, if you are asking this question in earnest I really think you need to just relax and accept the comments for what they are... as Marie put it "harmless praise for the spyder."

I usually think they are talking about me. I just say thank you.

I am posting it for all the libtards & snowflakes and all others that take offense to everything that is said today.

Ha! I've been called both and I thought your post was pretty funny! Does that mean I have to turn in my Libtard/Snowflake card??

Depends...

Depends on the comment... usual answers are " I like it" isn't it" but yeah I'm sure there are those that take offense in this day and age. Jealousy...they don't have one maybe they can get yours banned....:roflblack:

How Do You Like It?

Usually comes from an older male and was prefaced by "I used to ride" or "I used to ride and couldn't hold up a two wheeler any more & I didn't like the way trikes handled or rode and/or cost & "they didn't have those when I quit riding Damn It!"

THING

90% of the comments come in the form of THING.....
what is that THING...?
where'd you get that THING...?
is that THING fun to ryde...?
how much do those THINGS cost...?
are those THINGS fast...?
who builds those THINGS...?

we have a ryder in our group that has named his F3 THING..... because of this reason....
and NO, none of us get insulted.... on the contrary, we are pleased...
and if somebody does get insulted, they should move on to another manufacturer... jmho

yes, I'm offended

I'm always offended when a cute girl (over 18) comes up and says "that's hot" instead of commenting on the quality of the build. :chill:

I agree with Bob and BilltheDiver. A little pleasant conversation with a stranger can almost always add something positive to one's day. We're ambassadors for our form of recreation/transport too.

I'm not opposed to having a little conversation with curious onlookers. What is laughable is when some idiot asks me "how do you like that". Part of me wants to say "I hate it". But, instead, I usually just tell them "I wouldn't own it if I didn't like it". At that point, most, but not all, usually realize just how stupid their question is.....

Most people I've encountered who comment...

...don't know much about motorcycles and aren't sure what to say. So, I get "that is a great looking motorcycle" and "that's kinda cool looking"... I even get "what is that?" sometimes - and I am glad to tell them. I take it as interest on their part and I say thanks and then engage them in conversation. Has happened at a gas station, at the grocery, at the box store parking lot... I am not offended.

My wife and I get asked all the time if we "Like" our Spyders, my usual answer is " No we hate them, that's why we bought two of them" And I smile as I'm saying that. It usually get a big laugh and then they ask more about them.
