• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Should I change the trans filter during oil change? '21 F3 Ltd

Newbie here, I have followed this site since I purchased my bike September, 2021, but I have never posted. My warranty expires next September, and I am going to start doing my own work (simple stuff). My question is this - I will be switching to Amsoil metric synthetic oil and I will have 20,000 +/- miles by then. Should I change the trans filter with the service or am I okay to mix what little oil is left in the trans with the Amsoil?

Thank you for your input!

1.) Little bit of mixing won't hurt a thing.
2.) How many miles do you go between oil changes? If less than 7K miles, just wait until the next oil/filter change.
3.) If it makes you feel a bit more secure, change the trans filter. A little early, but so what..

You can mix any similar service grade oil with Amsoil. It may degrade the Amsoil a bit, but it won't hurt a thing. Change the HCM filter at the recommended 28,000 mile mark and you'll be good to go.
