• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I be concerned?

I had the right side panel off and noticed a wire and hose touching the frame. I don't have any electrical mods on the bike, but it doesn't look factory either. My instinct says I should move it, but to do so, I'll end up tearing things down quite a bit, before I can get my hands in the area to relocate the wire. If it's factory, is this the normal location for this wire? Should I be concerned about an eventual short?Wire.jpg

Can you give us a little more detail of where exactly this is that your talking about :dontknow: In your pic, its hard to tell, and when you say right side panel, there are a few of them, but I'm thinking your referring to the same side panel as the oil check panel, is that correct?

If you want & I'm not sure you'll find your answer, but we've had Teds Red Sled torn down many times now, and I've taken and posted hundreds of photo's in our Profile Albums under different topics, here's a link http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?u=5338

Maybe looking through our various pics, you can pick out the area your referencing and see if it looks similar, tho we have done numerous mods including removing the entire air-box & resonator, and that really opened the engine compartment up so that you can really get in there and look around and work with ease

Good luck, and hope this helps, if not, chime back in with more details, and when I get home from work today, I can take a quick look for ya ;)

If you are referring to the clear plastic covering the wire in the center of the picture it is NORMAL. These two wires are connected to the motor for the electric brake. They are a waterproof pin type connection and the wire are tie wrapped to the lateral support bar that is behind the plastic. No need to worry.

Sorry I couldn't get a better picture, It's tough to get the camera to focus on what I'm seeing. You're pretty much on target with the connection I'm referring to. The wires do have a clear connection and it's the purple jacket that's pressed up against the frame that got me to thinking something may be wrong…maybe it’s as it should be. :dontknow:

Thanks Dave, I’ll look through the pics. It’ll be nice to have a good set of pictures anytime I get brave enough to go after something. Not to change the subject, but the dreaded air box was in the way trying to wrap the pipes (didn’t get done) and even switch out my shocks, so it’s been on my most hated list for a while.
