Should I be concerned?

2021 RTL with about 1500 miles on it.

This afternoon I was out of a ride. I stopped for a break, when backing into a parking spot I triggered VSS failure and Limp Home Mode.
Fault Codes: C006C, C0051.

From what I can gather from previous posts, the first can be triggered by riding the brake (I did have my foot on the brake while backing).
The second relates to the steering angle (I was close to the hard lock to the right).

I was stopped for about 10 minutes. When I started the bike back up, all was well (no active codes). I rode for an additional 50 or so miles with no issues.


Should I just accept that the Nanny didn't like the way I was parking and roll-on, or should I be concerned?

Keep riding it. If it happens again then take it in fir warranty if needed.

They do things like that...just to show you who is the boss.

If it comes up again, time for a trip to the dealer.

You have to be touching your foot on the brake while going down the road to trigger a brake fault code.

:agree: . Gotta agree with the other responses so far - it's most likely just the Nanny, so as you've already posted...

......just accept that the Nanny didn't like the way I was parking and roll-on, .......

And if you keep on getting errors that don't have any obvious 'brake riding' causes, it's warranty time!

Had the same problem with my 2020 RT-L - ended up being a bad brake light switch.

I had that problem. Tighten my battery terminal with a wrench not a screwdriver.... To the point felt they would strip if I give it more.

Solved my problem.

Had the same problem with my 2020 RT-L - ended up being a bad brake light switch.

There was a recall on this for the 2020's, It should have been covered.
